Everybody is talking about fake news, if nowadays specialised fact checkers journalits (eg. International Fact Checking Network (IFCN) https://factcheckeu.info/en/about) or AI powered sites ( eg. https://www.fakerfact.org/walt-says/5631237750259712) are trying to establish the 'truth', one can argue that 1) automate result are not perfetc and 2) it is dangerous to label a news as true or false since it is impossible to have a perfectly neutral opinion.
The challenge that we propose is to automate the search for contradictory news to enable the reader to make is own opinion about the reported facts.
The component should be able to extract different qualitative or quantitative facts and to browse the web to find articles talking about the same events and to classify them by antagonism/support. It should also be able to detect suspicious content (eg. an image that was used in the past to relate another event or from another area) or old references (eg. new statistics or eventually discovery that changed the state of the art), by leveraging social network it can also be able to understand the group of people supporting or attacking the information and extract the major objections to the content.
