Brief description

Synthetic data is artificially generated data that replicates the statistical components of real-world data without containing any identifiable information. It can be seen as a new form of anonymisation that is not traceable back to the original records or breakable using decryption mechanisms. It is also secure when using complementary data sources to correlate information. Because synthetic data doesn't have a direct link to the original data, it is possible to generate more records of synthetic data than the existing ones. New diagnosis and treatment tools can be build using synthetic data.

Main Features

Research institutions are demanding governments to share COVID-19 patients data in order to build diagnosis and treatment tools to address the outbreak. This kind of data has the highest level of privacy and security, being not only the GDPR the only law that forbids the collaboration between institutions in what regards patients data. New medical advancements heavily rely on data-driven approaches, such as big data and artificial intelligence, being not able to use the valuable patients data needed to build such tools.

Areas of Application

Health, Diagnostics

Customer Benefits

YData's synthetic data will assist in the research and decision making related to the Coronavirus pandemic, while protecting patient’s data and comply with privacy regulation. It will lead to faster developments, increased collaboration and better decision making, namely a better allocation of resources, and the usage of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector, as enhancements in the research and development fields.

Technological novelty

YData works tabular and time series data for general purpose. We will adapt our technology to the health sector, specifically to COVID-19 data types in order to hospitals and institutions share patients data freely. YData is also currently developing and testing the software in the healthcare sector, more specifically generating synthetic data that mimics electrocardiogram signals (time series data), in order to help organisations to predict arrhythmias and other heart conditions. We want to apply the same technology to help fight the COVID-19 outbreak.
